Join Commoners Press for an introductory letterpress workshop
Together we will be printing Octavo booklets and postcards.

Creative prompt: ‘Micro-communities’ - we are all part of various micro-communities, by choice or otherwise. Use images and handset type to create and print your own double-page spread on this theme.
We will work together in our Coburg studio with metal type and a 70 year-old Heidelberg ‘red-ball’ to print and bind a small (85 x 130mm) ‘octavo’ format 16 page chapbook booklet.
- Learn about letterpress and small book production
- Set your own double page spread; one page type (verso), one page image (recto)
- Help with printing and binding
Numbers are limited to 5-7 for this introductory workshop and all skill levels are welcome, register early to secure your place.
Cost of $155, which includes,
- Lunch and morning tea
- Photopolymer plate of your supplied artwork
- Two copies of the 85 x 130mm finished booklet to take home
- Four 170 x 130mm double-page-spread ‘postcards’ of your own double page spread
